Hello List- I am looking for some information on one of my ancestors. His name was Joe James He was of Chickasaw descent. This is his family from the chickasaw Nation, Chickasaw Roll His parents: William James ( 48) Annie ( 46) Mulbert ( 9) Joe(6). They were living in Ponotoc county 1897. I would like to know where this family might be buried and especially would like to find Joe James Obit.. Joe James was the father of Christine James who married WC Mc Carty first and then 2 Jefferson Davis Winkler. Her mothers name was Lucy Gurtrude James Nee Risenhoover. I would like to know what cemeteries might be in this area or if this family was buried in a indian buriel place( for Chickasaw Indians) just dont how to go about the research.
