It is between Wagoner and Tahlequah. Tahlequah is the capital of the Cherokee Tribe, so this is why you have heard that it was a Cherokee town. I do not know if that is true, but I do know that my inlaws family lived there in the early 1900's (before statehood)and were not Indian at all. Do you have any information on my WILKEY families?
