What info does anyone have on James William Henry (1856-1930) and his descendants? He is buried with his wife, Ida Bell (Tanner) Henry (1862-1941) at Center Cemetery, Center. They lived in Pontotoc from around 1904 to their deaths. Many of their descendants still reside in Pontotoc today. James and Ida's children are: Lonie Henry Dame (1884-1957), Charles Edward Henry (1885-1928), James Silas Henry (1886- ca 1930), Roxie A. Henry Prewitt Cheshier (1891-1967), my great-grandpa Mose Johnson Henry (1892-1970), Fanny E. Henry Loman (1894-1973), Mary Ellen Henry Townsley (1897-1978), Robert Edward Henry (1899-1957), Mattie C. Henry (1901-1904), and Bertha Bell Henry Dollahon (1904-1959). Hi Glenda, I looked in the Rosedale Cemetery book that I have and there are lots of Thomas' there but no Martin or initial M. A good resource that I use on the internet that has a lot of Cemetery information all over the state is this website. http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Eokcemete/okcem.htm It's worth a try. Hi Lynn: Hmmm...where to begin. They were everywhere. My Chandler's, which are intertwined with the Logan's, came out of Lunenberg, Greenville, Newberry and Lauren's County, SC. They then went to Walton and Carroll Counties in Georgia and from there into Alabama; Benton and Cherokee Counties. The surnames of the families in the wagon train were: Chandler, Bonds, Ford, Owens, Brown, Sharp, Logan and Womack. They left Calhoun (AKA Benton) County, Alabama and moved to Pike County, Arkansas where they settled and raised families.
