My great great grandmother is a complete mystery to anyone. She died somewhere around 1910 and I know that she lived in Sulphur, Oklahoma because that's where her daughters were born. Her birth name was Maud or Maude Pullen(s) and she was born in 1880 in Texas. She married Sam Forney and had 2 daughters; Joyce Eva Forney and Audrey Christine Forney. I think she died around 1910 because Sam Forney remarried in 1912 to Nellie Forney and had more children. I wrote and tried to request a death certificate for Maude but was unsuccessful. She might have not died in Oklahoma. Any thoughts as to where I go next or does anyone have any other information on her? Thank you! Tina
I was very surprised to see an obit. for Homer "Mac" McDonald today in our California newspaper; born in Center, Oklahoma. (My grandma remembers him from 1940s Center! Didn't know any Centerians except my grandma lived here.) Should I post it? Brandon in California

No one in the family had heard of her until I found her name in a divorce record. According to the birth certificate, Jewell Grace Dawson was born 28 Dec 1927 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Only one Jewell with this birthdate comes up in the Social Security Death Index (and one Jewel). She was a resident of Ada, Pontotoc Co., Oklahoma who died 15 Oct 1996. I'd like to get background info on Jewell D. Rhodes to see if she could have possibly been my father's lost cousin. Maybe an obit would help. Any info appreciated!
Are you researching Galey/Fleming/Leforce/McManus surnames that lived in Pontotoc Co., OK and might be buried at Galey Cem, OK. I'll be there tomorrow taking photos of the graves and cem, to have posted on that site. If interested contact me. Jean Brand
I would like to Thank you all for your help in searching for the Lige Walker Cem, learn it has had 3 different names. It looks like John Wesley Barnett (my g-g-gpa) 1901) was one of the first buried there. I'm meeting with a kind lady Wed who has much history on this cem. John's gdau was buried there beside him Myrtle Barnett about 13 Sep 1903. It's listed as Galey Cemetery now and online, but not all the names are listed. I'll see what I can do about getting them on. I am also taking my camera to take photos of the headstones for any interested. Thank you all Jean Brand Push Co., OK

I called Criswell Funeral Home, they don't have any records for this cemetery, then called a cousin and here's what he told me: "Directions to Lige Walker Cemetery from Maxwell Cemetery, Pontotoc County, OK From Ada: take 3 West hwy to Oil Center, head straight north. Standing facing the Maxwell Cemetery where the Barnetts are buried: go left to the cornor, from there go 1 mile west, then 1 mile south, then 1 mile west, then 1 mile south again: Should be a house setting on the far right cornor at the cross roads, go to the house and ask where the Lige Walker cem is, it should be about 1/4 miles from that house. It's west of the Old Lamb place and cemetery sets on the old Walker place." Can anyone give me the name and phone number of the owner of this property, please. We have taken up a collection for a headstone for my g-g-gpa John Wesley Barnett and would like to get it laid, but only with permission of the owner. I am told this cemetery is in very bad shape and we need to get it cleaned first. There are headstones there but all broken and just laying on the ground. I plan to make a trip over there Wed to see for myself just what is needed to place this cemetery in order. While I'm there I will take photos and gather information of who all is buried there. Maybe something can be done. Thank you Jean Brand Rattan, OK
I was told that in Pontot Co, OK there was an old cemetery called Lige Walker. I have check everywhere and nothing found. Can anyone give me the location? Many Thanks Jean
Looking for any one who might know a Billy D. Harbour who was born in Ada, OK., moved to Artesia, NM., was in the United States Army National Guard in 1955. In July of 1955 Billy D. Harbour made out an allotment for a Nancy C. Harbour which was sent to Napa, CA. I found his paper work and his Bible in a box of old things and would like to return them to him or his family. Yes, I have been to the Allen cemetery--for the burial of Great-Uncle Arthur. My mother reminded me of that visit when we saw a marker (we did not know the person) with the comment, something like, "killed in a dastardly deed by her husband." Mother and I do not know the name of the cemetery in Stonewall--would you like for me to find out? And it's location? About Homer Carl Jumper--if he is the husband of Lena and the father of Betty Lou, his correct first name is Omar. (Rhymes with Homer.) Omar is the son of John Jumper. I have a large family picture with 25 Jumpers and Jumper relatives taken in 1925. My mother is also in it. At first, it was thought to be the 50th wedding anniversary of GA Jumper and Mary Azalee Jumper, but it was apparently just a family get-together of some kind. We used to have family Jumper family reunions every fall in Eufaula, OK, but it has been at least ten years now. We have many Jumper cousins in Conway, Arkansas, which is where George & Mary Azalee are buried...did you know that?Clyde Jumper was there once and we got pictures of him. He is Pink's son. Very nice man! Ed's daughter Ruby Halter lived in Conway too, but died several years ago. I have the address of her daugher Joann Cummins. I worked in an Albuquerque high school as the counseling secretary for 12 years and loved it. What is a para-educator? Let me know if this helps and if I can do anything else for you. Hope to hear from you again soon. MaryAnn

This is what it said about George Alvin Jumper, "He moved his family from Mississippi to Earlsboro, Oklahoma Territory, in 1904 and a year later, to Gerty. As he was 1/8 Choctaw Indian, he was given an Indian land allotment in Hughes County, Oklahoma, but it was subsequently taken from him because of a reputed lack of proof of his Indian blood." Like I wrote five minutes ago, I will talk to my mother tomorrow and see if she knows anything more. MaryAnn

Can you tell me who is asking about the Jumper line?? The Indian blood is a BIG question. Apparently, Granny's dad got land in Oklahoma in 1904 because he was part Indian, but then the land was taken away from him for some reason. I will see my 84-year-old mother tomorrow and I will ask her more about it. She is Minnie's daughter and she was born in Allen. I will write again tomorrow evening. In the meantime, if you have any other questions, I will be glad to help you all I can. Incidentally, my husband and I live in Broken Arrow, OK, which is one block from Tulsa. My mother lives in Tulsa. Until tomorrow, MaryAnn
