Please contact me with details. Do you have it in a computer file or a hard copy? I'm not sure my Conders were in the Pontotoc area, but it's worth a shot. It sounds very interesting, even if they weren't. Rhonda

Posted on: Pontotoc County Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ok/Pontotoc/788 Surname: Justus, Smith, Wells, Renison, Smith, Taylor, Thomas ------------------------- My cousin, Dorothy Justus Bond (daughter of John Justus, son of Benjamin Justus) thinks she remembers that Fannie Smith (daughter of J.O. Smith and Selena Johnson Smith, married a Renison. I checked the cemetery records at Oakman Cemetery, Francis, Pontotoc Co., Ok. There are two graves there identified as Renison's. They are as follows: Johnie Selena Renison, b 12-7-1901 d 6-2-1902 Marx Vergie Renison, b 3-25-1897 d 9-10-1899 The paper states that these are the daughters of J.R. and Fannie Renison. Would this be Fannie Smith, daughter of John Owen Smith and Selena Johnson Smith? I did not locate graves for J.R. and Fannie Renison, nor are they listed on the cemetery index. Thank You, Sherrye
This is a second post on this line, with new information added. I want to thank those that responded to my earlier post. I am trying to find my elusive Morris relatives. My great-grandmother Bertie Bane Morris Barton was born, whereabouts unknown, on 5 Sep 1872. She died, 3 July 1934 and is buried in Pontotoc County, OK. Her son, Lon Barton, my grandfather was born in Hardeman County, Texas, Quanah to be exact, on 8 Mar 1907. His parents are listed in the county records as R.C. Barton (who was Richard Conway, probably born on the Barton Plantation near Calvert, Milam/Robertson County, Texas) and Helen Barton. R.C. Barton and B.B. Barton are buried near to my grandfather and most of his brothers in East Hill Cemetery, Roff, Oklahoma. My grandfather, Lon Barton, died in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, 23 Jun 1938, and his mother is listed as Bertie Bane Barton in the funeral book. Also listed on the funeral on the inside cover of the funeral book's box are: Cora Morris and Tommie Morris (Some other notations on the box make it appear that Cora was Mrs. Tommie Morris), Carl Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Morris, Willard Morris, Garner Morris, Fred Morris and Lillian Morris ?Cozad? and daughter. Also listed were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Shumate and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shumate (my great-grandmother was the daughter of Tom Morris and Willet Shumate). Carl, Guy, Willard and Garner (with correction to Garvin in a different hand) Morris are listed as bearers on the appropriate page in the book. The Barton-Morris plot in Roff, OK's East Hill Cemetery also contains H.C. Morris and Ben Morris who by virtue of birth dates would have been from my great-grandmother's generation. If anyone recognizes these families I would welcome any help. Rich Reed
