    1. Re: [OKPONTOT] 1909 Death of Frant HATCHER
    2. Does anyone have access to obituraries for deaths of 3 September 1923? I would appreciate one for Eula Eunice (JAMES) JEMISON, buried in Highland 2 Cemetery, Pontotoc County. Also buried in the same cemetery is "Willie P. JEMISON, son of W.P and Eula E." He was born 17 August 1894 and died 11 January 1895. Would there be obituaries for babies at that time? Thanks for any help or suggestions on how to get these obituaries.

    1. Re: [OKPONTOT] 1920 Census
    2. You might be able to read the 1920 census at your local Latter Day Saints Family History Center. You do not need to be a member of the LDS (Morman) Church to use this facility. You request the microfilmed census for county and year you need and it is sent from Salt Lake City to the local LDS FHC. The cost is around $3.40 for the first month rental of the film. Should you need to have it longer, an additional $3.40 gets you an addition TWO MONTHS time, and if you need it even longer, the third $3.40 puts the film on permanent loan and will be there whenever you want to read or reread it. There are limited hours that the FHC is open. Here they are open on Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Thursday they are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, the hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check the hours in your vicinity I am not a member of LDS, but have found those who operate the FHC to be very helpful and go out of their way to make it easy for a researcher to find what is sought. I have had good success using this service. It takes two to three weeks to receive the microfilm depending on whether a copy is available for earlier shipment or a new copy must be made before shipping. The scope of the variety of records which have been filmed by the LDS from around the world is astounding! Hope this helps you find what you need.

    3. Posted on: Pontotoc County Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Pontotoc/896 Surname: JAMES, JEMISON ------------------------- Seek the burial place and confirmation that Eula Eunice (JAMES)JEMISON is buried in Jesse, Pontotoc County. She was one half Chickasaw and was the wife of William Pouncy JEMISON. Their son, Willie P. JEMISON, born 17 Aug 1894 and died 11 Jan 1895, is buried in Frisco Cemetery, Pontotoc County. There were other children, and Eula died, date unknown, but since the family seems to have graves marked with tombstones, I hope that Eula's birth and death dates will be on hers. Eula Eunice (JAMES) JEMISON was the daughter of Simon JAMES and Virginia "Jennie" Caledonia Byrd. She and William Pouncy JEMISON married first in Texas before moving to Oklahoma Indian Territory. They married again by Chickasaw Tribal Law and seemed to move back and forth between Choctaw and Chickasaw Territories. Will be happy to exchange information on this family.
