    1. [OKPONTOT] Gene Autry in Pontotoc County?
    2. Mike Landwehr
    3. Hi all, I'm trying to sort out some family traditions regarding my Reed, Patton and Bullard families. My Reed family was in Grayson County (near Tioga), Texas, in 1880, and in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, in 1910. Gene Autry (THE Gene Autry) was born in Grayson County (near Tioga), Texas, in 1907. One family tradition speaks of some of my relatives going to school with Gene Autry at Stonewall, in Pontotoc County, and about Gene Autry roping the bigger boys (including my relatives, Elmer Bullard and Claude Patton) during recess at Stonewall. I suppose this must have been during the 1910's or 1920's. Does anyone on the list know whether Gene Autry ever lived in Pontotoc County? Thanks, Mike Landwehr

    2. The problem is NOT YOU! Windows ME and AOL have incompatible software! I am returning my new computer to the manufacturer, and getting a refund. Later I will get a Windows 98 and leave Windows ME alone until they can get the software problems solved. Billie

    3. After I sent this email, I received three messages and with 49 messages left to download it stopped. My server had to delete all emails because he said something corrupted my box sooooo if you sent anything please resend again. Not my day<G> Sharon Well I have had so much trouble with my computer since installing WindowsMe that I decided to try reformating my hard drive and reinstall Win98. I moved my email over to my other hard drive but I guess I missed something ( like a .dll) because now I can't get them to open. But on the plus side, my computer is running great. And the bottom line is - If you have sent me an email and/or attachment and I haven't answered you or posted your photo attachment, please resend. 1. Re: [OKPONTOT] Looking for William Francis Lancaster/Lankister and family.
    2. Check the 1860 Federal Census for the surnames you listed in the three states you named as possible birth sites for your William. There should be printed indexs for this year in the genealogical seciton of your public library. If not, for a small fee, they may be able to get the mircrofilm for you on Inter-Library Loan which you can use in your local library for a specific time. You should find your William in the household of his parents, which will take you back another generation, and give you a handle on the siblings of William at the time he was born. If there is a LDS Family History Center in your area, you can also rent microfilm from them for use in their facilitly for periods of one month $3.40, additional TWO months for another $3.40, and permanent loan for another $3.40. They have all the cenus indexes that have been printed. You do NOT need to be a member of the Morman Church to use their facilites. I am not a member, but have found their resources to be of great help. A part of their religion is tracing their families so you may find filmed records there that would not be available elsewhere. Good luck in your search! Billie
