I imagine Ignorant Hill was one of the schools that he just called Ignorant. My father-in-law lived on a farm in western Ok that he named Hungry Heights, becaused the land was so poor that they almost starved to death. Being born in Pontotoc Co I have never heard of Ignorant Hill KSB

The only place that I can think of is where I grew up. I grew up in the Union Hill community which is on the way to Galey from Ada. My dad went to both schools Summer's Chapel. He was born on the hill above the school house by Memorial Park Cemetery.. Later he went to Union Hill schools through the 8th grade. Then he went to Vanoss HS. Back to the rest of the story. When my grandad Morgan (G.L.) moved from Moody to Ada about 1901, he taught subscription school at what later became Union Hill for a year or two. It was simply called the "Tough School". He actually named the school Union Hill for 2 schools that had closed in prior years. I do not recall what they were called (but I have read the names) but one had ???? Hill and I don't recall now the other name. Anyway my point was that there may have been an old school named that at one time in the nearby community. Mike
