The Moores I am especially interested in are FM Moore 1863-1949 and Jewell E. Moore 10/7/1916-7/20/1936. Plus Jesse Moore and Pearl J. Coffman. My G-Grandmothers parents were Robert W. and Margarett Moore. She had a sister Elsie Jane and a brother Lyman. If you find anything on these would you please let me know? Thanks Gwen

We were not previously aware of Sarah and James Murray, or Frank W. this is very helpful. Also, do you know of a Pearl Murray, that married a Coffman. She too is buried in Allen. My father just remembers that name.

Posted on: Pontotoc County Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Pontotoc/11008 Surname: Murray, Moore ------------------------- I am looking for information on Sarah Anne Moore Murray. She lived in Allen,OK after 1899, moving from Pawnee Cnty, OK after her husband James Lewis Murray died. She brought with her 5 of her children. One of her daughters, Maybel (May) lived with her until her death in 1921 (?). Sarah is buried in the Allen Cemetery. There are several Moores also buried at the Allen Cemetery and I am wondering if any of them might have been some of her family. I have been wondering why she would leave Pawnee and move to Allen and I think it would be because of family living there. Sarah had two of her sons living with her in Allen, Frank W. Murray and Raymond L. Murray. Ray is also buried in the Allen Cemetery. Frank worked for a rancher in that area when he was about 14-18 yrs old. If you have any information about his family would you please contact me. Thanks

The area referred to as Pecan Grove is the valley just south of the Robert S. Kerr Lab. From the overlook at the lab, looking south and southeast, that valley is Pecan Grove, at least for a mile or so. If you are not familiar with the lab, Pecan Grove stretches about a mile either side of County Road 158 from the hill just west of Kerr Lab Road, across Clear Boggy Creek to State Highway 99. Others will have a different definition of Pecan Grove, but that is mine!
