    1. Re: [OKOTTAWA] Miners
    2. Jeannie: I too have a miners card from Picher, OK on my great Uncle - from around 1924. I have been to the Picher mining museum in OK - it is very small and you will find other mining cards there as well. I think one of the best web sites I have seen yet on Ottawa County (which includes Picher) is the one below by John Schehrer. He has many collections of pictures of Picher and all the nearby towns with all the mines of years past. I think he even borrowed a few of the pictures from the museum. I was even able to print most of them out. <A HREF="http://www.homestead.com/schehrer/ottawa.html">Click here: Ottawa</A> or http://www.homestead.com/schehrer/ottawa.html Hope this helps -- I have only found an obituary on my great Uncle - his name was Carl Henry Wiman. OK doesn't even have a copy of his death certificate. I seem to find nothing else on him. I visited the Miami Library - which is a town nearby and that is where I found his obit - but I wish I would have known about the Dobson Musem while I was there. They are suppose to have a large amount of info. Here is a link to them below. <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hollow/1723/">Click here: Dobson Museum of Ottawa County, Oklahoma</A> or http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hollow/1723/ Hope I have helped in some way--- Good Luck!!
