Having just discovered that my father's birth mother died the day before Mother's Day, I've been thinking a lot about her life back in 1914. Does anyone know when the custom of celebrating Mother's Day began? I found lots of references to it in the 1914 Muskogee OK newspapers I was searching. Ginger
