Hi, I've also sent this to the Oklahoma list, and thought I'd also make a big stab in the dark here. I am wondering if, when anyone is looking at obituaries, if they might keep in mind, the name of Delroy Thurman. Delroy entered the Navy during WWII, and enlisted in Oklahoma. He was killed aboard the USS Saratoga, on Feb. 21, 1945. His ship was hit by 5 Kamikazee planes on that date. He, along with 122 others, were buried at sea off the coast of Iwo Jima. Delory was the first cousin of a good friend of mine, who is suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease. Delroy lived with the family, when my friend was a small boy.....but, he has no idea which of his brothers Delroy was the son of. We've had no luck in finding information on him, and unless you are the next of kin of the person, the National Archives & Records Administration will not release information to you. A first cousin is not considered next of kin. I don't even know which county he would have been considered a resident of. I know the Thurmans (his father's family) lived in Pontotoc county at one time, and also Garvin. He also had an aunt in Muskogee. Anyway, I just thought I would throw this out to the list, in case anyone just happens to run across the name of Delroy Thurman, and the death date of Feb. 21, 1945. Thanks ever so much. Myrna
