Cole's older brothers remains unaccounted for. Thomas N. Cole was born in TN about 1821. Their mother died in 1874 and 1883 court records listed Thomas as deceased but survived by two children, names unknown. When her heirs were identified in 1888 only Thomas' daughter, Clara, was listed. All of the other listed grandchildren were identified as "only children of", but apparently Clara's sibling had not been found or determined to have died. I have not been able to find Thomas after 1850, but it is possible that he had a son who could not be found because he had moved to TX. A long shot, but worth checking out if your timeline is compatible with this family's. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
