My great-grandfather, Charles Lane, is a big unknown to me. I'm looking for anyone out there that might have info or suggestions for me. Here's the situation: According to a probation officer report in 1926 (Charles had commited a felony), Charles says he was born 28 Dec 1899 in Oklahoma City. I have not found any confirmation of this in all my searching. He says his father (John P. Lane) was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma (date?). I have not found any confirmation of this either. He says his father died when he was 7 years old (1907?), and he was given to a family by the name of Morales for foster care. I have not found any confirmation of this. Finally, he says his mother, Sula Pina, was born in Muskogee, and was a Cherokee Indian. I have not found any confirmation of this. Does anyone have any suggestions for where I might go from here? Thanks for any thoughts. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
