No Ernest (assume he is already in OKC??) There is a Mahaska County book online at Ancestry that has a bio of Elmer as he was related (son??) to a former Governor of Iowa. It confirms Elmer and Margaret had two sons, Ernest and Harry. I will re-check for wedding or death announcements, but there was a US Ambassador to Germany named James Gerard that dominates the papers during that period and, unfortunately, the search won't let me exclude him.
