He was born October 24, 1918, in Jacksonville, FL, to Freeman Land and Eula Mary (Stanford) Chunn. Freeman graduated in 1937 from Central High School, Oklahoma City, and attended Hill’s Business College. Freeman met a ready-made family later with whom he chose to share the rest of his life, and married Dortha (Reid Welch) July 1968. Freeman worked 52 years for Federal Corporation where he developed and cherished many lifelong friendships. He was a witness for Christ through his words and deeds and was a loyal member of the First Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife, Dortha, of the home; son, Tommy Welch, and his wife, Mary Ann, of Moore; son, Keith Welch, and his wife, Joni, of Oklahoma City and daughter, Vicki Watts, and her husband, Clyde, of Southlake, TX; two cousins, Norman Thomas, of Atlanta,! GA, and, Ab Conyers, of Waco, TX; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2002, in the chapel at the First Presbyterian Church, Oklahoma City, OK. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
