My mother was sent to a girls "school" about 1940 when she was 13.They lived near Tinker Field outside Oklahoma City.She said the scool was large with girls of all ages and many problems.In the 30's and 40's handling a runaway with serious mental health issues was delt with by locking her up.She remaned there until she was 18.Some of the stories she told about that place were pretty bad.
