Bean, 82, of 1117 W Park, who died Monday, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hahn-Cook Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. He was born in Sulphur Springs, Ky., and moved to Oklahoma in 1910. He was a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Ruby McMinn, Bartlesville.” From the “Daily Oklahoman”, Oklahoma City, 12 Jul 1953, p54: “VOWS SOLEMNIZED FOR JOY MCMINN AND JOE D. LYNN – Wedding vows were solemnized for Miss Joy McMinn and Joe Dean Lynn Saturday at 4 p.m. in the home of the bride’s parents in Bartlesville. Rev. John R. Webb officiated at the double-ring ceremony before a background of huckleberry and baskets of white gladioli. The bride is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. James M. McMinn, Bartlesville, formerly of Oklahoma City, and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. And Mrs. James J. Lynn, Elgin, Ks. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. And Mrs. Dresden Bean, 1117 W Park Place….” From the “Daily Oklahoman”, Oklahoma City, 26 Dec 1957, p10: “CHRISTMAS HAS SPECIAL MEANING FOR THREE CITY COUPLES – Christmas “together” – these warm and joyful words were given a variety of translations in Oklahoma City Wednesday. For many, it was a time for family reunions, for reaffirming friendships, for quiet celebrations. For three couples in particular it was a day to be remembered. Mr. And Mrs. Dresden P. Bean, 1117 W Park, managed to make it a festive occasion, even though Mrs. Bean was unable to leave her room at St. Anthony hospital. And at 1107 W Park, Mr. And Mrs. Harry Stair and their guests, Mr. And Mrs. T.F. Gritton, 1234 N Westeer, noted that Christmas dinner “together” is getting to be something of a habit. They shared Yule turkey and trimmins Wednesday for the thirty-third consecutive time. The observance in Room 368 at St. Anthony was a three-way affair. The beans celebrated their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary and Bean’s 79th birthday as well as Christmas. Mrs. Bean, 76, has been in the hospital since November 6, recuperating from a heart ailment. The St. Anthony staff surprised them with an anniversary cake Wednesday morning. And relatives of the pair sent in another cake for them to serve nurses and aids (sic)…”
