For information, write or call at Metropolitan hotel; G. Maassen, prop. Guthrie, Okla." from the Daily Oklahoman, 20 Dec 1932, p16: "MAASSEN - Gustave, 74, 1001 W 9th. Survivors; two sons, A.E. Maassen, city, and John Maassen, Gerome, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. Hilda Lewis, Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Bertha Blessing, Gerome, Idaho. He died Friday at home. Maassen was born in Manning, Iowa, and came to Guthrie as a child. He moved to Oklahoma City six years before he joined the railroad. A member of the Railroad of America Car Union, he attended Hill's Business College.
