He is a solicitor for Ledbetter Insurance Company at 2010 N. Ross Avenue. He was married by the 1935 Directory to Maun E. They later moved to 2208 NW 25th. By 1970, he owns his own company, Gumberts Insurance at 104 Drexel Avenue. In the Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma county, Oklahoma, Thursday, April 1, 1976. I did not find an obit, only a listing under funerals: "GUMBERTS, Mandel, 79, of 5104 N. Drexel; 10 a.m. Thursday in Guardian Watts Funeral Home, burial in Resurrection Cemetery." In the Lawton Morning Press- Constitution, Lawton, Comanche county, Oklahoma, July 23, 1984, page 6A. No obit, just funeral announcement: "Maun E. Gumberts, Route 1, 4 p.m., Becker Memorial Chapel."

    1. Lincoln Park Monument, OK City
    2. I have a newspaper article from 1938 that describes a proposed monument to the Grand Blvd park system that was going to be placed "on the highest point in Lincoln Park near the park's new north entrance off the boulevard." The monument was to include four bronze plaques. One of these was to honor the people who donated the land for the park system, which included my husband's g-grandfather, John Eckroat. My question: Does anyone know if the monument was ever actually created, and does it still exist today? I might be making a to OK City next summer, and that's something I'd love to check out! -- Cherie Atkinson Clark [email protected] http://members.aol.com/chersfmly/ http://journals.aol.com/chersfmly/geniejournal/ **There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. According to my collection of maps, I am able to locate the old Council Grove post office/depot at the current location between Council Road to the east and County Line Road to the west, Reno St. to the south and N.W. 10th Street to the north.
