I am a relative of Belle Starr. I have her first marriage license and it shows her to be 23 years old in 1880 when she married her first husband Bruce Younger. They were married in Labette County, KS. on May 15, 1880 at Chetopa Kansas by John Shields. It also shows that Belle was from Vernon Co. Mo. and Bruce was from St. Clair Co., MO. There is also a great book, that is supposed to be historically factual written about Belle's life. It is the "Legend of Belle Starr". It, in the least, makes a good read!
