    2. 7 dec 1893 We regret to learn of the loss by fire Monday night of the dwelling and contents of Joseph ROBERTSON, of Choska. This is said to have been one of the best dwelling houses of the town. Mr W.J. PEEVYHOUSE, of the vininity oc Checotah, is now on the jail force. He is one of the best men in the country. Died- Tom GASSETT, of consumption, in jail yesterday. He was serving a two year jail sentence for larceny on two convictions; having received his sentence at the last spring term of court. Will ROBINSON gored in the thigh by a cow. 11 jan 1894 Obituary- Mrs Eliz SHIRLEY {mother of Belle STARR} died last night {Jan 4} in the 73rd yr of her age. A native of Louisville, KY she married John SHIRLEY in 1836 and settled in Carthage, MO, where six children, four boys and two girls were born. all of these children, except the oldest and youngest, turned desperadoes and died with their boots on. The Shirley family moved Missouri to Dallas, Texas in 1866, and shortly after their arrival, Belle, at age of 16, eloped with bandit Jim REED, who himself was killed the following year.........Ed SHIRLEY, a noted horse thief was was shot off his horse near Dallas in 1863.....Manfred, another brother, was killed in a fight with officers in Indian Territory a year later.......Allison was killed in S.W. Missouri during the war.....Mrs Shirly lived for several years off of the charity of the Methodist Church, of which she was a member.
