If you copy information from a film you still need to deal with the copyright. I contacted a representative of the LDS Church Family History Center and was told that they have contracts with those who own the information they film. The original copyright still stands, meaning if a entire book is filmed, the copyright on the book still stand and we as researchers cannot go in and copy the book, page by page, word for word and publish it ourselves.
