Hope this goes the right direction. I have a brick wall with this family. My grandmother, Viola Irving, parents William & Heneretta Oakley Irving, is my brick wall. I can not find her till 1899 when she married my grandfather, John Deurelle Watkins in Muskogee, Ok. I.T. Her parents, brothers & sisters are on the Cherokee Rolls. Her mother is listed as an adopted white. I think William Irving was her step father & the children were half brothers & sisters. I have a track on the family of John Deurelle Watkins from Samantha, Tuscaloosa Co., Ala. John had an oil business in Muskogee and a taxi business in Braggs. He was a carpenter, stone mason & a jack of all trades. I am told he was on the school board in Braggs. He died in 1921 from cancer. Viola dies in 1835 from TB. They lived in Muskogee when he died and Viola moved back to Braggs. They are both buried in South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs. Would love to hear from someone that knows something about my family.
