I went to the Tulsa Schusterman Lib. yesterday. I was told that the 1896 Dawes Rolls were worthless and had been thrown away. Does anyone know anything about this? All people who signed it were supposed to reapply. We could find none of the Cantrell names on the 1905 Rolls . Later, we were told that the OK Historical Soc. might have a copy of the old 1896 Rolls. I was wondering if anyone else had run into this problem? The grandmother, Beulah Cantrell Buchanan, did get a land allotment in Coal Co, I think. The grandson remembers visiting and she lived on her Indian land. Could she do that without a roll number? Should we go to Muskogee Library now or OK? Any suggestions? Thank you very much. Sincerely, Elnora Bowen [email protected] Can reply to my email address, if wanted.
