I loved it when I would go downtown with my dad to his workplace when the azaleas were all in bloom, so beautiful. I went to Tony Goetz Elementary in my 3rd and 4th grades. My 4th grade teacher was Mrs. Rains. We would shop at M. M. Cohn's downtown and eat at Vic's restaurant which was across the street from Copies, Inc. that my dad owned. Vic was a super guy. Next door to my dad's was the most gorgeous place I had ever seen in my life! It was McIntee's Jewelers and Mr. McIntee gave me my very first diamond there. We lived in apartments that were just built, no grass yet even, Yorktown Apartments.
