Have you looked for their marriage in Muskogee? My grandparents lived in Braggs and were married in Muskogee. I glanced through the book by Juliana Irving Hiner called Braggs, Ok. and did notice their names. Good luck and good hunting. Carole

Mary Ellen is it possible the town name was Muldrow (near Sallisaw) in Sequoyah county? Now there are only these counties in Oklahoma beginniing with M--Major, Marshall, Mayes, McClain, McCurtain, McIntosh, Murray, Muskogee. You might go to one of the map sites and see if there were any different county names. Do you know what part of the state they came from? Good luck. Carole
Gosh, I really don't know, but that sure sounds close to what was repeated to me. Perhaps the person was confused with city versus county. I will certainly pursue this, and thank you very much for giving me this piece of information. Sincerely, Mary Ellen
Thank you. Know the information was passed on to me by a third person. I have nothing in writing to firm up the exact name. I appreciate you taking the time to list the counties with an "M" in Oklahoma. Many thanks for your kindness, and I will continue to research this new piece of information. Sincerely, Mary Ellen
Good morning: Could anyone tell me if they have heard of a county in Oklahoma called Mulgrove or something like it? Supposedly some of my family was born and initially raised there, but I am not familiar with Oklahoma, nor it's counties. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Mary Ellen
Morning everyone. I've transcribed/abstracted the Sep & Oct 1897 issues of the Ft. Gibson Post Newspaper and they now on-line. I've also abstracted the marriages noted in the paper and those are also on line now. Transcribing/Abstracting old newspapers on microfilm is a slow, tedious process so you have to bear with me as I work on this project. I recently found several family members in Muskogee County at the Middleton Chapel Cemetery. As I live far away, I was wondering if anyone in the vicinity might be willing to take photos or do rubbings for me. I would be more than happy to reimburse you as you deem fit and would be very thankful as well. My mother, still living, would be very interested in seeing the sites which are the resting places of her little brother and sister as well as her grandmother. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help, now or in the future or whenever it might be convenient. The graves are as follows: Section 2 Row 4 CONNER, BUDDY Dec, 16, 1921 - Feb. 5, 1923 CONNER, WANDA LOU Feb. 12, 1930 - Mar. 12, 1935 CONNER, DORA 1855 - 1942 MOTHER space

I have a question on locating death records for a cousin, a very distant one. Bud B. "Stonewall Jackson" BEARD was living in Muskogee on the 1920 census. I have learned from the Muskogee Library that he was listed on the City Directory in 1921,but not after that. He was only 45 at that time. I rather doubt that he died but he could have. How could I check for death records for him----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda Haas Davenport" <lhaasdav@mindspring.com> Date: Sun, 20 Oct 2002 04:59:54 -0500 To: OKMUSKOG-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [OKMUSKOG] Muskogee Co web site > Many thanks for the nice words.
