I have found my great great uncle Solan Jackson born in TN. son of Eli and Susan Jackson of TN. living in Muskogee, Ok. and married to Henrietta Ratley and their children were Annetta, Annie Mae, William E., Susan Ethel. Would like to contact any of these families and exchange information. I understand his wife Henrietta was of Indian descent. Very interested in this also. Your best bet is to contact Wally at the Muskogee Co Genealogy Library. He has all of the old Muskogee Newspapers and if he finds the article can make you a copy. my gtandfather Aussie Floyd McDaniel was born in Weleetka, Okla. on Sept 21,1902. I am wanting to find his mother and father. John Monroe(1864)? and Harriet Melvina Blaylock McDaniel (1871)?. were they married in Okla ? they had 5 boys all born in Okla. 1923 my grandfather moved to Yuma, AZ . And Many Thanks for the kind words. I think most of you realize that Sue Tolbert and I both have Muskogee sites - me for the USGenWeb Project and Sue for the American History & Genealogy Project. We try not to duplicate the records we transcribe (I do newspapers and Sue does cemeteries for example). That way people who are researching in Muskogee get lots of good stuff to shift thru.
