    1. Re: [OKMUSKOG] Muskogee City Directories
    2. I have the address to Muskogee Gen Soc......will have to dig it out........but meanwhile wanted to make sure everyone understood that each and every genealogical society that I have ever contacted have always been VERY nice and helped all they could. I usually wrote first and enclosed a couple dollars or a small check and always got a thank you note. I usually sent cash. Also, when you write, concentrate on one fam at a time. If you send too much it then becomes "unreasonable" and they might hesitate. I have usually always written..........sometimes I would form a "relationship" with a person and then I would call the gen soc and ask for her/him and talk personally but usually written correspondence is fine. Always be ever so thankful.....course we all know that but thought would mention it. I have had experience with gen soc all over and always ....except for 2 times......had wonderful experience. Even if they didnt have anything they wrote a very nice letter and it was appreciated because they often had a new path for me to take. Good Luck........sorry to ramble.

    1. Re: [OKMUSKOG] Muskogee City Directories
    2. For Muskogee directories........have you tried writing or calling the Muskogee Genealogical Society? They would have them and could tell you what you need to know. Have done it in the past. When I would write I would include $2.00 or $3.00 just as a "thanks" in advance. They are very nice. Have contacted them in a while, but know in the past they have been as helpful as possible. That actually applies to any county genealogical society....for future reference to all.

    1. Re: [OKMUSKOG] Muskogee City Directories
    2. Kathy, If you do find the City Directories at the genealogy library in San Francisco, would you be kind enough to look up a name for me. I'm trying to determine when and for how long my grandfather was living in Muskogee. The dates would be between 1909-1920. The name is Dr. Jacob Burton Wachtel, MD. I know that he moved to Oklahoma City at a later date so am trying to fill in the middle part. Any help you might provide would be greatly appreciated. Marty Santa Maria, CA
