    1. [OKMUSKOG] Inquiry results from Tulsa Library re/1896 Dawes Choctaw Rolls
    2. I went to the Tulsa Schusterman Lib. yesterday. I was told that the 1896 Dawes Rolls were worthless and had been thrown away. Does anyone know anything about this? All people who signed it were supposed to reapply. We could find none of the Cantrell names on the 1905 Rolls . Later, we were told that the OK Historical Soc. might have a copy of the old 1896 Rolls. I was wondering if anyone else had run into this problem? The grandmother, Beulah Cantrell Buchanan, did get a land allotment in Coal Co, I think. The grandson remembers visiting and she lived on her Indian land. Could she do that without a roll number? Should we go to Muskogee Library now or OK? Any suggestions? Thank you very much. Sincerely, Elnora Bowen [email protected] Can reply to my email address, if wanted.

    3. Elnora, Muskogee Public Library has everything you need and it is free. Well worth the trip if you only live in Sapulpa. Her mother's name was Ellen West Cantrell. Beulah married Joe or Joseph Buchanan on Mar 1, 1900. I found that on the Choctaw marriage listed on the OK web. I believe she was from Oconee. I found her on ancestry.com last night as being Choctaw and the case number on the 1886 Dawes Rolls is 968. What that means, I am not sure. I'm not sure our Sapulpa Library has the Rolls. We are trying to get the Rolls number so the Buchanans can get an Indian card which they are entitles to. They have looked for years trying to find out some info on the grandmother. They have her marriage certificate and place of burial. They don't know Beulah' s father's name either. There are a lot of questions to be answered . Thank you for answering. 2. LDS has that film also.....the Armstrong; Siler; Dawes; Guion Miller; Henderson; several other rolls......that was just off the top of my head. If you look at their catalog it will tell you all the film they have concerning Indian Territory and the Tribes.....you can rent any of it for 1 month. They keep it there for the month and you go look at it anytime during that period. You can extend when the time is up. It is 3.80 a roll. Sandy

    2. You can rent the 1896 Choctaw census at any LDS fam history center.....if they dont already have it in the premises. Also, any archives.....Ft. Worth, TX; Washington, San Francisco. Most lending libraries. Try your local LDS fam history center first. That is a sure thing, Sandy
