Hello! I'm new to the list, just having found where this family went in OK and am hoping to connect with some fellow FLOYD - BURK family researchers. I'm looking for info on family of John F. Floyd. He and his wife, Nettie Burk Floyd were living in Sulphur for more than 20 years and the last I know of them is in 1942. John F. Floyd was a station agent at the RR according the the 1920 census. Nettie Burk Floyd was listed as living in Sulphur in the 1942 obituary of her sister Irene Barks in Sweet Springs, MO. The FLOYDS were from Saline Co, MO. They had a son Herbert (Monroe) Floyd (1892-1967) who served in WWI and then went to CA and worked for the RR as a telegraph operator and died in Tulelake, CA. They also had Nettie's mother, Cynthia Susan Clendenin Burk, and Nettie's sister, Stella Burk (married to B.H. Dixon, was in Tecumseh in 1942) living with them in MO. I would like to find the death date/place and hopefully an obituary for Nettie Burk Floyd. Nettie was born in Jan 1869 to Elisha and Cynthia Susan Clendenin Burk. The Burks moved to MO in 1867 or so from Warren Co., OH. If anyone knows of this family, I would be happy to exchange info--on FLOYDS, BURKS, CLENDENINs. Thanks, Mary Louise Townsend Potomac Falls, VA
