Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Sulphur with Father Ray Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Davis. Services are under the direction of Krien Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Tina Healey, of the home, and children, Kitten Healey Hallin and husband, Eric, Burke Lewis Healey and wife, Sherry, Brian Charles Healey and wife, Janet, and Brett Regan Healey and wife, Nome, all of Davis, Barry Gerard Healey and wife, Pam, of Memphis, Tenn., Michael Payne and wife, Jennifer of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Jon Payne of Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Baren "Skip" Healey and wife, Sue of Davis; 16 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born in Kansas City, Mo., on May 17, 1932. He was the son of Dorothy Wentz Sparks and James Burke Healey. He duated from Ponca City High School and attended Duke University and later graduated from Oklahoma State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Healey married Kathleen Walsh on July 27, 1952. She preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 1983. He served in the Air Force until 1957 when he returned to the Flying L Ranch, which he co-owned with his brother, Skip, for 38 years. With his five children, Burke owned and operated the Southern Cross Ranch in Davis. He served in numerous state and national leadership positions. He was chairman of the OSU Board of Regents in 1968, 1969, 1974 and 1975, as well as many agriculture and cattle associations. Healey was a past president of the American Hereford Association and received the Oklahoma Cattleman of the Year Award in 2000. The family asks that memorials be made to Cross Timbers Hospice in Ardmore or St. Francis Xavier Church in Sulphur. Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Bryce Todd, Randy Moore, Bob Drake, Tom Drake and Max Swartz.
