Wiles, 73, of Dougherty were held Oct. 26, 2002, at First Baptist Church of Dougherty. The Rev. Willard "Chopper" McCartney officiated, and she was buried in Dougherty Cemetery. Mrs. Wiles was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Sulphur and died Oct. 23, 2002 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City. She had lived in this area all her life and attended school in Frisco, a small community south of Ada. She married James Leonard Wiles in 1943, and they were married 40 years before his death in 1983. Mrs. Wiles was a Baptist and enjoyed fishing, reading and "shopping." She was a people oriented person and was an excellent cook who loved family gatherings. Her survivors include six children, Michael Chad Wiles and Bob Wiles, both of Davis, David Lee Wiles of Dougherty, Thomas Ray Wiles and Sandra Lynn Walker, both of Sulphur, and Carolyn Jo Hessney of Sanford, Fla., 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Katherine Davis, two sons, James Woodrow and Ricky Wayne and a sister, Imogene Hickman. Krien Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
