Interment was at the Oaklawn cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. He was born on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 1927 in Mill Creek to Dee Bivens and Elizabeth Gaddis Bivens. He died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 in Sulphur. On July 11, 1950 he married Geneva Smith at Winchester, Il. He grew up in Mill Creek and graduated from Mill Creek High School. He served in WWII and has lived in Sulphur since 1950. He worked in maintenance at OSD and owned and ran the Sulphur Dog Trade for 44 years. He is survived by his wife, Geneva, Sulphur; one son, David Bivens, Sulphur; a grandson and his wife, Wesley and Tammy Bivens; one granddaughter, Feleena Bivens; a grandson, Philip Bivens; and a great granddaughter, Ashley Bivens. He was preceded in death by a son, Don Ray, in 1976, his parents and two sisters. Memorials may be made to Relay For Life, P. O. Box 886, Sulphur, OK 73086.
