Surnames: Carter Sadler Strahn Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UaB.2ACI/777 Message Board Post: Mallinee "Molly" Carter Funeral services for Mallinee "Molly" (Sadler) Carter, 81, of Davis were Feb. 19 at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, with the Revs. Don Carter and Jim Grimh officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery. She died Feb. 17, 2003, at Pauls Valley General Hospital. Mrs. Carter was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Homer to Edward and Georgia (Strahn) Sadler. She started school at Homer when she was 4 and graduated high school at 16 from Woodland School. She married Arthur A. "John" Carter on Nov. 28, 1938. They owned and operated a grocery store in Davis in the 1950s and also owned apartments on West Benton in Davis for 22 years. The Carters lived south of Davis by the river before moving to town. Mrs. Carter was well-known for her fish dinners and was always taking food to people. She was also known to be a perfectionist in her housekeeping. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Don Sadler, and a sister, Inez Shumaker. Survivors include: her husband of the home; two sons, Donald of Davis and Ted of Sparta, Mo.; three sisters, Rhea Pearson and Ella Stevens, both of Homer and Joyce Winter of Ardmore; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Loyd Krien, Jackie Don Sadler, Keith Brott, Lloyd Stapp, Bill Beans, Nathan Carter and Jonathan Hudspeth. Krien Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
