OK Folks, One more time. There were no government bodies to make the records of Marriages, Births or Deaths in what became the state of Oklahoma BEFORE 1907. You may check local newspapers for obits, etc. The family members, if they were not Indian, got a marriage license from the federal court in Ardmore or some place like that if they married in OK. They could have gone to AR, KS, or TX to get the license. That is what my gg-grandparents did. The state did not begin to keep records until it became a state in 1907. You may also check family Bibles for these records. Records were not kept in any regular manner even after statehood until well into the 1920's and '30's. DO NOT look for an Oklahoma birth, death or marriage certificate until AFTER Oklahoma became a state!!! Dennis
