Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment was at the Dougherty Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. She was born on Saturday, Aug. 11, 1923 in Oklahoma City to George Haney and Sarla Beauchant Haney. She died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 in Sulphur. On September 21, 1940 she married Roy Cecil Payne in Dougherty. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1998. She grew up in this area. She lived in Hereford, Texas and Oklahoma City before moving back to this area. She had lived in Dougherty the last 20 years. She loved to bowl and take care of people. She was a retired Cook at Dougherty Senior Citizens. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Chambless, Davis; one son, Bill Payne, Oklahoma City; one brother, George Haney, Jr., Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Bobbie Jean Edwards, one son Darrell Payne, her twin brother, Johnny Haney and two sisters, Minnie White and Georgia Haney. Pallbearers were Glen Hale, Jeff Chambless, Douglas Akers, Chris Payne, Wayne Flick and Daryl Payne.
