Randy Chapman officiated, and burial was in Blanco Cemetery, Blanco, Okla. Mrs. Thornton was born Dec. 10, 1908 in Sulphur and died Sept. 1, 2002 at Burford Manor Nursing Home. She moved to Blanco at the age of 2 with her parents, General Sidney and Katie (Fitzgerald) Traughber. She met and married James "Jim" Walter Thornton in 1928. They moved to Carlsbad, N.M., and lived there most of their married life. Mr. Thornton preceded her in death in 1957 and in 1967, she moved to Denver, Colo., to be near her family. She returned to Davis in 1987 and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Her survivors include a son, Bill Thornton of Ft. Morgan, Colo.; three daughters, Nellie Kiser, Davis and Katie Russell and Ruth Thompson, both of Denver Colo.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, four brothers, Fred, Joe Elmer, Oran and
