A private service is planned. She was born March 23, 1918, in Wirt, Okla., to Oscar and Jennie Spiser. In August 1943, in Eugene, she married Jack G. Hurd. She recently moved to Central Point from San Jose, Calif. She attended the University of Southern California and Loyola University. She retired after working as a special education teacher in California public schools. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Leiland Spiser Hurd, San Jose; a sister, Betty Whitley; two brothers, Danny and Jimmy Spiser, both Oklahoma; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
