Betty Hester officiating. Interment was at the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. He was born on May 19, 1930 in Greenville, Texas to Verno Lee Barker and Leta Pearl Kincer Barker. He died April 24 in Ada. He grew up in Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School. He had lived in the Ardmore area before moving to Sulphur in the early 1970's. He moved to Roff in 2002. He worked as a cableman for the Chickasaw Telephone Company. He served in the Korean War and was a Baptist by faith. He is survived by one daughter, Leann Curnutt, Wellston; three sons, Vernon "Buddy" Barker, Killeen, Texas, Don Barker, Anchorage, AK, and Joe Barker, Wasilla, AK; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
