While reading "The Chickasaw Rancher", I came across reference that Montford JOHNSON's headquarters was called Walnut Creek Ranch. There is also reference to his house being near Caddo Creek and that one of his children and one of his sister's children is buried there. I am always on the outlook for a cemetery called Walnut where my gg-grandmother, Mary Ann COURTNEY (d1911), was buried. Looking at the map, it looks like this may be in Carter County, but Caddo Creek also is a little in Murray County. Does anyone know where this ranchhouse and grave is located? firegrl@sierratel.com http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/g/r/e/Candace-L-Gregory/
I didn't see it when I first looked. If I had, I sure wouldn't have done it.
