I can never get "in" to chat, I have tried several, several times. Is there a trick to this, or what? I have given up!!! Linda in Oklahoma
There's no trick. Just go to this site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb/helplinks/chat/spinchat.htm and enter a user name of your choice and hit enter. The site is locked up until 9:00pm so you can't get in till then. A while back, Dennis posted the obit for Georgia DIAMOND, b1909 Bromide, OK services held 10-26-2002 Davis, OK. It states that Georgia was married to Jack J. DIAMOND, who preceded her in death and that they married in 1947 Sherman, TX. I have been looking for a Samuel L. "Jack" DIAMOND, b1894 OK (per birth certificate of son) who married Willa Frances "Billie" GREGORY, b1906 probably Sorghum Flats, OK. This family went to CA around 1930 and I lose track of them after 1935 or so. They had two children, Joyce, b1927 and James William, b1930 Bakersfield, Kern Co., CA. I am wondering if my DIAMOND is related to this Jack J. DIAMOND who married Georgia, or if there are any other DIAMOND researchers out there. Hello All, Candace sent a really nice photo of her relatives who lived around Ft. Arbuckle in 1892. For those who wish they lived back then look closely, you may have a change of heart. It was a lot tougher than we think. Here is the link: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okmurray/Families/courtney02.htm Take care, Dennis p.s. Thanks Candice for the really nifty photo.
Look in Smithville. I have a Jim Ray m. Lucy Priscilla Arnett, they died there. A downline. Also ancestors for Arnett, and Page are related. ~Walter pekinghowell@netscape.net wrote: >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Surnames: Ray, Murphy >Classification: Query > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UaB.2ACI/748 > >Message Board Post: > >Looking for information on ancestry of Ruth Murphy married Glen Ray in 1928. I have been trying to figure out who this HILL Family was that he thought so much of to name his first born after, also thinking that there could be a relation here. My great-grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Hill, Jr. ... born about 1864??? Possibly TENN maybe TEXAS .... Because he was a junior, I can only say his father was "Sr." I have not been able to find ANY other info on the "Senior's HILL" family that I can prove. Ben, Jr. and his wife Emaline Brazil had at least 3 of their children in Hunt County and Kaufman County, TX in the 1890's(?). Ben Jr.'s only daughter, Rosie, married Robert Lee Barnett (born TX) in Pontotoc County, Indian Territory in 1903. They both lived in Indian Territory near what is now Davis, OK Robert's father was John BARNETT married to Elizabeth RAY. John and Elizabeth married in Shelby County, AL about 1868. Elizabeth's family are listed there in the 1850 Census under THOMAS RAY. Well, I HOPE!!! that something sounds familiar to your research!!!! Please let me know!!!!!! I do have more dated information of Ben Hill, Jr's family from his married life to now ... but not much backward. I have very little "backwards" on the Barnett's. .. just forward. I have the 1850 census record on RAY family and some family lore and some 1880 census .... .... but not much ANYTHING!!!!!! you can help me with will be greatly appreciated!!!! I have searched off and on for 20 years. Only recently I found the 1850 ALA Census record for RAY. I am hoping that I will be able to find John Barnett in 1850 ALA Census. He would be with Joseph BARNETT ... wife and siblings unknown. PLEASE let me know. Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!!! Nella BestNeeNee@aol.com
