The McIntosh County Democrat January 6, 2005 Millie Mary Wert Millie Mary Wert, 85, of Eufaula, formerly of Chandler, passed away on Friday, Dec 24, 2004, at her home following a battle with Cancer. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Chandler. Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler. Millie was born July 3, 1919, at Chandler, the daughter of Edgar and Rose (Herndon) Walley. She was the oldest of seven children. She married Benjamin L. West on Jan. 8, 1954, in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a military wife, she traveled everywhere that Benjamin was sent and the family could go. Her favorite times were spent in the kitchen. She loved to cook and could make a meal out of anything. She also enjoyed baking, making jelly and sewing. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, step father, Milton Musser, two brothers, Clarence and Edgar R. Walley; and three sisters, Edith Phillips, Iola Dunn and Ruth Ryan. She is survived by her husband of nearly 51 years, Benjamin of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Burns and husband Mike of Eufaula and Carole DuPuy of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Christopher Burns and wife Jackie of Tulsa and Kaityln DuPuy of Flagstaff; and one great granddaughter, Hannah Burns of Tulsa; one sister Lee Cadenhead and husband Bob of Stephensville, Texas; numerous nieces , nephews and friends.
