Sherry Mae Thomas Sherry Mae Thomas, 62, of Checotah died Monday March 7, 2005, at St. Francis Heart Hospital in Tulsa. Funeral Services were held at 1 pm Friday March 11, 2005, at the Destiny Center Assembly of God Church in Checotah, officiated by Reverend Larry Hatfield assisted by Reverend Marcus Alexander. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Checotah. Sherry was born Sept 14, 1942 at Eufaula, Ok., to Benjamin Moses and Enda Mae Shaver. She was united in marriage to Bob Thomas on May 31, 1959, in Checotah. They made their home in Checotah until moving to Post Falls, Idaho 13 years before returning to Checotah. She is survived by her husband, Bob of the home; sons Bobby D. and his wife Eileen (Campbell) Thomas, Dennis Wade and His wife Shellie Thomas, all of Checotah; brother Donald Shaver of Longtown; grandchildren Amanda Dawn Thomas and Ben Thomas; great grandchildren Raegan Paige and Alexis Berana Burge all of Checotah; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Enda Shaver, four brothers, Dee, Dale, Dennis and Wayne Shaver, a sister Mamie and one nephew Mike Shaver.
