Subject: Obituary of Bernice Cox Duke Bernice (Cox) Duke, 81 of Eufaula, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2005, at her home. Services were in the Stidham Baptist Church at 2pm, Monday, February 21, 2005. The Rev. Gene Cook officated. Burial was in Melette Cemetery. Arrangements were under the love and care of Gragg Funeral Home of Eufaula. Pallbearers were Dennis Duke, Keith Duke, Bertice Duke, Bobby Gray, Bill Cox and Mark Jennings. Honorary pallbearers were David Willmon, Doug Willmon, Justin Willmon, Rodney Duke, Lamar Armstrong, Dean Duke and Dene Armstrong. Bernice was born to Joe Cox and Buena (Foreman) Cox on April 5, 1923 at Hanna, OK. She attended school at East Liberty near Hanna. She married Vernon Duke on May 2, 1942 at Fame, OK. Bernice was a member of the Stidham Baptist Church. Bernice is survived by her husband, Vernon Duke of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Betty Duke of Eufaula; one daughter and son-in-law, Vernona and Floyd Mitchell of Eufaula; one sister, Joyce Cox of Bakersfield, CA; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
