John Paul Edwards 1937-2006 John Edwards age 67, of Checotah, Oklahoma Passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Muskogee Regional Medical Center in Muskogee. John was born to Millard and Agnes (Pittman) Edwards on September 28, 1937 in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. He was Union Steward and worked for many years for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union, doing pipeline construction. John and his family traveled to many different areas but he always enjoyed returning to his home state of Oklahoma. He was a dedicated family man and he and his family always spent their leisure time together. John was preceded in death by his father, Millard Edwards. He is survived by his wife Iris Ann of the home. Two daughters; Nina Yolande Strader and her husband Ross of Checotah, Ok., and Tina Danette "Dia" Whisenhunt of Fort Gibson, Ok. His mother Agnes Liichow of Muskogee, Ok. Two brothers; Larry Edwards and his wife Becky and Curtis Edwards. Three sisters; Linda Webster and her husband Jerry, Pam Chapman and Twyla Acres. Five grandchildren; Piper Wisenhunt, Sheena Whisenhunt, Sephra Strader, Blake Whisenhunt and Ehan Edwards. Numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, March 7, 2005 at the Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
