Elena Lane 1946-2005 Elena Lane, 58, of Checotah, passed away on Sunday January 2, 2005 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 6, 1946 in Astoria, Oregon, the daughter of Federick W. and Margaret (Carsey) Andrews. She moved to Checotah in 1972 coming from California. Elena was a member of the Checotah Church of Christ. Preceding her in death were her mother, two brothers, Donald Andrews, and Danny Dowss. Survivors include her father, Frederick W. Anders of Eugene, Oregon; husband Norman Lane of the home; son Ryan Andrews Lane of the home; brother William Andrews of Eugene, Oregon; three sisters Patt Hiett of Eureka, Ca, Sharon Richardson of Long View, WA and Virginia Miller of Emporia Ks and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Checotah Church of Christ with Everett Dunn and Allen Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
