    3. I met him, with my Dad, usually at Decoration at Fame. My sisters & I went out there one winter & he was walking down the road, so we stopped and talked to him. He got in the car with us & we drove around to where he said was "Old Fame". It was in the middle of a cow pasture!! He always had on a long coat that looked like it came from the Civil War. My sister called him "long coat". He showed us where his wife is buried, I believe its called the Moore Cemetery not far from the Fame Cem. How are you related to the Pendergrafts? Some of them were my parents friends & I believe they are in some group pictures that were taken when Mother and Daddy were dating. (ca 1922). ----- Original Message ----- From: "bemillsap" <bemillsap@sbcglobal.net> To: <OKMCINTO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2004 7:33 AM Subject: Re: [OKMCINTO] Roll Call > See why I love roll calls? 3. I think I'm missing your name somewhere, is it Doris? If wrong, please set me right. I'm doubly kin to the Pendergrafts. Hang with me here. My great-grandfather, James L. Newberry, married Mary Ann Scott Hayes Pearce (Widow of James Bud Pearce.) Mary Ann was the mother of Maudenna (Dena) Pearce, who married James Thomas Pendergraft. James was the son of Melvin Asbury and Martha Newberry Pendergraft. Martha was also the sister to my James L. Newberry. I'm loving these little stories. I'm going to print this one off and also save it to the family file. Thank you so much for sharing.
