My great grandmother, Maggie (Davis) Andrews, was married for a short time to a Newberry, first name might have been George. (I will check on this) Date would have been around 1916. They had one son, Turner "Snooks" Newberry. They were only married a few years. Wanda (Calif) (but born in Checotah)
My great great grandfather was Joseph McClain b. 1826 in Weakly, Tenn. Married to Mary ? And raised a family in Johnson and Logan County, Arkansas My great grandfather was Newburn McClain b. 1850 in Logan County, Arkansas d.1930 Hanna, OK. Last time he saw his father Joseph was as he held the gate open for his father Joseph to ride off to the Civil War. Newburn's 1st wife was Sarah. Wish I could find where she is buried in Arkansas. Robert E. Lee McClain, Emmett Newburn McClain and James Washington were Sarah and Newburn's children. Newburn's second wife is LaVina Smith. Both buried in Hanna Cemetery. I would like to know more about LaVina Smith and her family. Lula Kennedy and Millie Ballinger was LaVina and Newburn's children. I recently attended Hanna Cemetery memorial day and met several of Millie's wonderful family for the first time. I am most interested in early days of Hanna, Ok during the 1890-1930 time frame. I enjoy pictures and stories during that time frame. My grandfather was James Washington McClain who lived in Chickasha, Ok, Grady County.
