HANNAH JULY was born on Feb. 16, 1915 to Pahoseyahola Josie Smith and Sotka Harley Smith in McIntosh County and died June 18 at Muskogee Regional Hospital. Services were held June 21 in the Deep Fork Hillabee Baptist Church followed by burial in Greenlawn Cemetery at Checotah under the direction of Hampton Mortuary. Survivors include her two sons, Charles July of Tulsa and Gene July of Hminy; two daughters, Omega Welch of Oktaha and Nancy Barnett of Checotah; 22 grandhcildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Sue Harper of Checotah and Juanita Smith of Earlsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley; sons, Sauce, Joe and Mose July; grandchildren, Joy July Amber, Tanna July, Jessie Amber, and Jeremy July. THE INDIAN JOURNAL, Thursday, June 28, 2001
